We Bought a House

We bought a house!!
It’s a dream come true!

We’ve been married 18 years.
We’ve lived in 9 places together.
This will be number 10!

We’ve lived in 3 apartments, followed by 6 houses. All were rented homes, except for one. Our 3rd place was a small 2 bedroom apartment in a lovely location, which we bought when Ava was about 9 months old. We lived in it for about a year, but when we were expecting Anouk we knew it was too small for us & it wasn’t going to allow us to give our children the childhood days we were imagining for them & the years would go by too fast. So we sold it & made wonderful memories in rented houses that allowed us to give our little ones play room, space, grass. Plus the space to host gatherings, birthday parties & Christmas’s. It was the right decision for us, but sometimes came with it’s own limits & challenges.

A few years ago we felt moved to take steps (leaps!) towards our dream of buying our own home.

What unfolded has been an incredible journey.
So many road trips.
So many towns.
So many hotels & Airbnbs.
So much research.
SO much FAITH!
So many answered prayers!
So many moving boxes.
So much teamwork.
So many house viewings during a pandemic (a year’s worth).

Then when this lockdown hit our city, we thought it might be a roadblock on finding ‘the one’, but we viewed just one more on the first weekend of lockdown & well…. the reason we knew instantly it was the one is a story all of its own.
