My dad (John Morris) is a professional blues musician and his blues duo are ‘THE BLUES PREACHERS‘ (consisting of Brother John on guitar, banjo & vocals and Captain Bluetongue on harmonica & vocals). Last month they filmed a music video for their song ‘Free Train Agreement’ with film maker Sam Brumby at the Train Works Rail museum. I got a call from my dad asking if I would photograph the filming as there was going to be a variety of dancers from various cultures showing up to take part in the video which party took place on board an old steam train.
Free Train Agreement is a song from their album ‘Dead Catz Can Bounce’. To quote the blues Preachers, “it contains songs about the big issues of today: the global financial crisis, greed, relationships, global warming, materialism, life and death and the search for truth and meaning in the great age of misinformation”.
Part of the lyrics:
ALL ABOARD
Get on board the Free Train, get on board
White man black man yellow and brown,
it don’t matter just come on down
Brother John and Captain Bluetongue,
everybody got to get along.
ALL ABOARD
Get on board the Free Train, get on board
Well all you people of every nation,
there’s a train a coming to your station.
Well you don’t need no luggage and you don’t need to pack
Don’t need no Ticket to ride on this track
