merry. little.

Just a few of the things I loved about this Christmas… taking our girls into the city to see the big tree, Anouk pretending to be Mary with baby Jesus, reading them the story of Christmas & asking Anouk many times who’s birth we celebrate at Christmas only for her to answer every time “yours mum!”, the shopping centre Santa asking Anouk what she would like for Christmas & hearing her say “a book for mummy & a teddy for mummy” (I guess it makes sense since it is apparently my birthday), visiting the house with christmas lights & sleigh rides for children, waking to discover baking powder snow & boot prints on the kitchen floor on Christmas morning, thinking we are awesome parents for orchestrating the snow trick….. then Anouk asking why Santa left such a mess on the floor with all his coconut & Ava correcting her “it wasn’t coconut…. it was flour”, their first trampoline, realising that the trampoline is as much fun for Pete as the kids, matching red nails for all the girls, gathering for meals with both sides of our family, picnics in the park, our two beautiful nephews, Ava’s fairy doll that hasn’t left her side, watching our girls play & feeling a little torn about this being their last weeks together before Ava begins school. Feeling so thankful for every. single. day.
