make a wish

Jan 1st 2013, here we are. Many have wished each other a Merry Christmas & sent each other wishes for a happy new year. If a wish is a hope for something, then wishes are things we all have. Do you think that if we could see the wishes people hold close to their hearts, we would know more about who they are? Some people make resolutions at the start of a year and behind those resolutions are their real hopes and wishes.

Sometimes having the courage to wish is enough to make something happen… and sometimes it’s not. Sometimes we chase our wishes, sometimes we find them, sometimes we create them, sometimes we navigate our way through a field of obstacles & realities in our lives, sometimes we give up, sometimes we lose sight of what we first hoped for, sometimes the hopes change along the way, sometimes we discover that what we already have is better than what we could have wished for, sometimes we are told to dream bigger, sometimes we learn to hope deeper, sometimes we discover that the best wishes we can have are the ones that are not for ourselves.

One of the most beautiful things to see are those whose wishes and hopes are for others, and more so the sacrifices that follow to make them come true. There are parts of life that we can’t control, but we can choose where we place our hope. We always have our ability to wish and to choose our wishes.
