Yes my darling Ava, keep carrying your baby sister on your hip as much as you do. Carry her and hold her so that you will never forget how it felt for her to be small in your arms. Even when my arms were tired I used to carry you. We would walk down streets and stop so you could touch the plants with your baby fingers. Somewhere along the line there must have been a day where I carried you on my hip for the last time and it’s probably a good thing I didn’t know it was the last, but being your mother taught me that the chance to hold a baby on your hip and take a slow walk and stop to look at things along the way, is a chance that won’t wait around for long. Although watching you today, I’d guess you already understand that.
