We enjoyed 3 days worth of celebrations on Thursday, Friday & Saturday for my best friends 40th birthday. Then we backed it up with a Sunday breakfast date for Pete’s good mate’s birthday. While we were chatting after breakfast, our kids spotted a water feature to play and cool down in. There’s nothing more fun than spontaneous water play on a hot Summer day… until someone falls over and lands on their knee and it results in a trip to the doctor. So this has been Ava for a few days, managing pain & hopping along on one leg. I’m adding it into my project because this is part of childhood. We can’t say no to all the play activities that involve risk cause there’s too much to lose if we wrap them in cotton wool, so every now and then this is what childhood looks like.
