Day 30 | January photo a day project 2016

School has gone back, but they still have their weekends to play. I hope they dream and play until the very last moment of their childhood… and even when childhood runs it’s course, I hope that dreaming & playing are still part of who they are.

Day 31| January photo a day project

Warm Sunday morning. Messy hair. Matching night gowns. Eating muesli with sleepy faces. Two days back at school has made them tired. Going back to school is hard after weeks of leisurely Summer holidays where time is not a factor and we can wake up without an alarm. I have photo’s of them eating their...

Day 28 | January photo a day project 2016

First day of grade 1 and grade 4. When they were little and at home with me every day, with some sadness I would think about how one day they would both grow up and go to school. I couldn’t imagine it, but I knew it was in our future. In the same way I...

Day 26 | January photo a day project 2016

Anouk: “Hey mum, don’t you think this branch looks like a cactus?” me: “Yes it does” Anouk: “That’s why...

Day 23 | January photo a day project 2016

It’s not the most perfect photo I took that day, but it’s the one that takes me back to a moment. Them rushing by me, headed straight for the ocean. Abundant joy in simple things. Their awesome swimwear is from http://www.babesintheshade.com.au/

Day 21 | January photo a day project 2016

“mum if I set the alarm for early tomorrow, will you wake up and walk to the beach with me to watch the sunrise?” There were so many responses running through my mind… But I’m not a morning person… but 5am is so early… but we are on holidays… but sleep is good… but I’ve seen...
