Australia day this year.
We relaxed at home for a while, then head out to Sydney’s Enmore park where my brother Jesse’s band ‘Jesse Morris & the three beans’ were performing as part of the Australia day entertainment….
we bumped into some friends of ours there too, which always makes the day a little more fun…
Ava & Anouk were happy to hang out & watch Uncle Jesse singing on stage. It is so reminiscent of my own childhood when my brother & I would watch our dad on stage at festivals just like this.
Don’t let this one audience member fool you, the crowd were loving the music!…
The kids got up & danced … and Anouk eventually warmed to the volume…
Then the priority was showing Uncle Jesse her new ink…
The park was buzzing with an atmosphere of fun & an integrated community.
After Jesse’s band played, a group performed a fusion of assyrian, middle eastern & flamenco music… which was followed by Brasilian drummers & dancers parading in the park.
This is what Australia day is all about.
My sister was there with Isaac that day! Wonder how close you came to seeing each other… 😉 Isaac had a fantastic time – it’s great to see photos of the atmosphere I heard about but didn’t get to experience myself.
Oh really!? We were there from start to end & ran into a few people we know, so I’m surprised we didn’t see him. We probably walked straight past them. Wish we had seen him! x
ohhh that brings back so many memories myself. What an awesome day. I am loving the new look of your site. I have just been pouring over your gorgeous photos again 🙂 xx
