He was five when his little sister was born & he would say, “she’s a beautiful girl in the beautiful world”. I’m told that they were fighting in the car on the way to the photo session (because that’s what an 11 year old brother & 6 year old sister do)…. but they also happily held hands & giggled together like old friends. Zara looks up & smiles at James like she secretly thinks he’s pretty great & he smiles back like he just might still think she’s that beautiful girl in the beautiful world. While we were playing around for this shoot we found the pink glasses on the ground & I knew I had to let James & Zara wear them. Not only are these kids beautiful, they have a great sense of humour. My favourite moment was when I asked Zara what makes her happy & she answered seriously, “seeing the Australian flag” & James burst out laughing & said she’d only said that because there was a flag behind me that Zara was looking directly at when I asked the question.
What can I say, you just know how to capture the moment so beautifully. Thank you so much.
