When Anouk was a baby we noticed she had a bit of a gift with rhythm and timing.
At age one, if she heard a rhythm she would repeat it by tapping it with her little hands.
As she has grown older she has continued to be drawn towards any type of beat.
She whistles tunes all day long. Not just a little bit of whistling. She whistles so much that we have to ask her if she would mind taking a whistle break just to give our ears a rest. We also had to talk about not whistling in class last year. She’s musical.
This was her first jam session. I walked out to the back deck of my brother’s place and found her faultlessly jamming a Bob Marley song with her uncles.
