I was proud of these girls today.
They completed a 3 hour moderate to difficult trail through the bush without complaining about being tired once.
They walked, they climbed and they investigated.
At one point Anouk told me she had seen the place where we were in a dream.
With just half an hour of the trek to go, Ava noticed a leech on Anouk’s shoe, followed by all of us finding leech after leech on our shoes.
Pete was flicking them off our shoes with a stick, while the girls started screaming & crying.
Anouk was hanging off Pete’s back pack yelling “carry me! carry me!”
Ava started running through the bush shouting, “I’m never ever going on a bush walk again!”
Tonight we are all laughing about that scene and I’m hoping the experience might just make my city girls a little bit stronger.
