Day 1 – January photo a day 2014

This is my third year of photographing my children for the photo-a-day project in January. January in Australia is Summer time & school is on break until almost the end of the month, so it is filled with days of rest, play, togetherness…  and swimming.

Separate to the project I also took this photo as a reference to similar pictures I took on January 1st of 2011 & 2012

This January my girls are age 7 & 4.5. Ava has just finished grade one, which amazes me since I started this project in the January before she started her first day of Kindergarten.
In 2013 my girls each had a round of illness that put them in hospital for a few nights at different times. It has given me an even greater appreciation for every single day of health…. for every single day where they can play ordinarily. Of all the things I could want or hope for in life, not one is a material object or thing. What I hope for is the wisdom to enjoy, love, appreciate & participate in the joy of every single ordinary & beautiful day with the precious people God has put in my life.
